Husk Expands From Cambodia to Vietnam With Biochar Fertilizer (VN)

|

After proving its success in Cambodia, agri-tech startup Husk is entering Vietnam to produce biochar-based fertilizers that restore soil health and reduce carbon emissions. The company recently secured a $5 million investment from Mekong Capital to build a biochar plant in the Mekong Delta by 2025.

Founded in 2017 by Heloise Buckland and Carol Rius, Husk transforms rice husks and other agricultural waste into biochar and organic fertilizers that increase yields and improve soil fertility. With Vietnam’s organic fertilizer market projected to reach $4.2 billion by 2030, Husk aims to capture a 2% market share, expand production to two countries, and export across Southeast Asia by the end of the decade.
